The best high school students and teachers visited Kozminski University.

On January 14th our University hosted the award ceremony of the 12th National Ranking of Secondary Schools of "Perspektywy" and "Rzeczpospolita". The Rector, prof. Andrzej K. Koźmiński, when welcoming the youth and teachers, said: We welcome the participants of the scientific olympics. Laureates of these competitions study here for free and we would like to have as many of them as possible.

The first place of this ranking, consecutively for the past seven years, was taken the 13th General Secondary School from Szczecin, the principal of which is Mr. Cezary Urban, a current Member of the Polish Parliament. The second place went to the Junior and Senior Academic High School of the University of Mikolaj Kopernik from Toruń, third was the 14th General High School of Belgian Polonia in Wroclaw, fourth - the 3rd General High School of the Polish Navy in Gdynia which boasts the highest number of IB graduates, fifth was the 5th August Witkowski General High School from Krakow. The latter also received a special award form Prof. Andrzej Koźmiński for the largest number of laureates of scientific olympics - 74. The winners of this ranking are the schools which have the highest proportion of scientific olympics lureates and finalists among their students. The ranking includes 428 schools. 15 of the best and the regional winners were awarded a distinction.

 

The vice Minister of Education, Krzysztof Stanowski, participated in the ceremony and congratulated the teachers for their students' achievements. Some other Members of the Parliament, representatives of local governments, universities and the principals, teachers and students of the awarded high schools visited Kozminski University for the ceremony.
