Three Weeks to Go Before AIEC 2013

In only three weeks, teaching staff, researchers, policy makers and other international education industry experts will gather at the AIEC in Canberra to discuss major industry developments in Australia and other parts of the world, and to network with Australian and international colleagues.
With stellar keynote speakers, focused panels and presentations and hands-on workshops, AIEC offers four days full of industry updates, trends and solutions for your organisation's international strategy.
The 27th Australian International Education Conference will be held in Canberra from 8 - 11 October, 2013. For more information and to register please see www.aiec.idp.com
2013 Election: Where To From Here?
In the heart of the nation's capital, and only weeks after the federal election, AIEC will be an important forum to discuss the future of international education. The Hon. Alan Tudge MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, and Senator Scott Ryan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Education, will provide their insights into international education policy implementation going forward, and reflect on the macro political issues that affect international education in Australia. Chaired by IEAA's Executive Director, Mr Phil Honeywood, this mini-plenary will address how institutions can best position themselves for the future.

Thursday Social Event: Cocktail Function & Party
Located at the base of Capital Hill at the centre of the Parliamentary Triangle, looking out onto New Parliament House, Old Parliament House sets the scene for the AIEC 2013 Cocktail Function & Party.
This year, we offer delegates the opportunity to experience the history of Canberra in two different ways, and you pick the one that suits you best!
Join us at the AIEC Cocktail Function in the King's Hall - once the venue for historic announcements and receptions for Heads of State and other dignitaries - for a fantastic night of networking and world-class entertainment; or put on your dancing shoes and have a fun evening at the AIEC Cocktail Party in the Members' Dining Room - once the room that provided dining and recreation facilities for the Members and Senators, hosting Royal visits and official State receptions amongst other uses.
Old Parliament House will welcome and entertain delegates with live bands and entertainment, delicious canapes and cocktails, and will offer all a fun and very memorable evening.
